Welcome to AURA. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AURA mobile application and the website at liveaura.app (collectively, the "Service"), operated by AuraLabs ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use AURA.
You must be at least 13 years old to use AURA. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly allow users under 13 — if we discover an account belongs to someone under 13, it will be terminated.
AURA uses Google Sign In or Sign In with Apple for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your linked account. You may only create one AURA account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans, score penalties, or other restrictions is a violation of these Terms and will result in permanent termination of all associated accounts.
Your name is set during onboarding and locked after that point. Your phone number is required for core features and must be a valid non-VoIP number.
Your AURA score is calculated from vibes cast by other users you have encountered in person. Scores reflect real-world interactions and are not editable by you. You have two independent scores (universal metrics and profession metrics) — these are never averaged together.
Scores are only visible once a user has received a minimum number of vibes. Below that threshold, no score is displayed.
You agree not to attempt to manipulate your own score or another user's score through coordinated activity, fake accounts, coercion, or any other artificial means.
AURA is a proximity-based app. Your location is shared with nearby users while you are active. This is a core, non-optional feature of the Service. By using AURA, you consent to your location being shared with nearby users for the purpose of enabling vibes and AR mode features.
You can stop sharing your location at any time by closing the app or revoking location permissions in your device settings, which will remove you from other users' nearby views.
AURA uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to enhance proximity detection. The app broadcasts a short anonymous identifier via BLE while running. You consent to this broadcasting as part of using the Service.
You agree not to use AURA to:
Users may report other users for misconduct. Reports are reviewed by AuraLabs. We reserve the right to take any moderation action we deem appropriate, including warning, trust score deduction, shadowbanning, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of an account. Moderation decisions are final.
We do not guarantee any particular response time or outcome for reports. Filing false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account carries a trust score penalty. If you re-join AURA after deleting your account, your score will start lower than a new user's starting score. This policy exists to protect the integrity of the reputation system and is non-negotiable.
Upon account deletion, your profile is deactivated and your public-facing information is removed. Some residual data may be retained for up to 90 days per our Privacy Policy.
During early access, AURA is invite-only and geographically restricted to specific areas. These restrictions may change over time. Attempting to circumvent invite or geographic restrictions violates these Terms.
AURA offers optional paid subscription tiers (Pro and Plus). Subscriptions are processed through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store via RevenueCat. All purchases are subject to the payment terms of the applicable app store. We do not process payment card data directly.
Subscription fees are charged on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, depending on the plan selected). You can cancel at any time through your app store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not offer prorated refunds except as required by applicable law or app store policy.
Pro features (including AR mode) are only available to active subscribers. If your subscription lapses, access to Pro features will cease at the end of the billing period.
All content, design, trademarks, and software comprising AURA are owned by AuraLabs or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any content you provide (such as your profile photo). By submitting content to AURA, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
AURA is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any scores or ratings accurately reflect real-world qualities of any person.
AURA scores and vibes are expressions of opinion by other users. They are not factual statements, professional assessments, or endorsements by AuraLabs. We are not responsible for how users interpret or act on AURA scores.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AuraLabs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to damages related to reputation, loss of data, or loss of income. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AuraLabs and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another user.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@liveaura.app and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top. For material changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of AURA after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any conduct we determine to be harmful to the Service or its users. Upon termination, your right to use AURA ceases immediately.
